Being in Last Place

I'm pretty sure this is a freshly homeless couple. The woman's head is barely sticking up from where she's sitting on a curb on the other side of bushes.

I say "freshly" homeless because they are still hauling around everything they own in two grocery carts. It won't be long before the streets will snatch even that from them.

Whatever reason caused them to fail to keep up where they were before... bad habits, bad luck, bad decisions or just being in last place... the journey back to any semblance of a normal life just got 10x harder than what they already couldn't manage.

It is sad that conservatives and liberals can't work out a way to manage this problem more effectively. It's about to get astronomically worse because each side is so busy scoring points by blaming the other when each side is partly right and partly wrong.
